Dr. Brittany Shine, DDS
Founder & Lead Cosmetic Dentist
Dr. Brittany Shine brings over 15 years of expertise in cosmetic and restorative dentistry to Lumina Smile Studio. After graduating summa cum laude from UCLA School of Dentistry, she completed an advanced residency in cosmetic dentistry at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Shine specializes in smile makeovers, porcelain veneers, and full-mouth reconstructions. She has been featured in Cosmetic Dentistry Today and has lectured internationally on advanced bonding techniques. Her artistic eye, combined with cutting-edge technology, has transformed thousands of smiles throughout Southern California.
When she’s not crafting perfect smiles, Dr. Shine enjoys photography, wine tasting in Napa Valley, and volunteering with Smile Train international. She believes that a confident smile can truly change someone’s life, and she considers herself privileged to be part of that transformation.
Dr. James Rivera, DDS
Associate Cosmetic Dentist & Implant Specialist
Dr. James Rivera joined Lumina Smile Studio in 2019, bringing a fresh perspective and expertise in dental implants and advanced cosmetic procedures. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California and completed specialized training in implantology at the Misch International Implant Institute.
Known for his gentle approach and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Rivera has quickly become a patient favorite. His background in biomedical engineering gives him a unique understanding of the technical aspects of modern dentistry, allowing him to achieve exceptional results with complex cases.
Dr. Rivera is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay current with the latest innovations. Outside the practice, he’s an avid surfer, marathon runner, and enjoys cooking Mediterranean cuisine with his family.
